These general terms apply to quotations, samples and orders with Handmade Rug. The quotation or proforma invoice you accept sets the specific price, quantity, payment and delivery terms for your order, and takes priority over these general terms where they differ.
Made to order
Our rugs are woven or tufted by hand to your agreed specification. Because each piece is made for you, a small variation in size, colour and pattern is a natural characteristic of handmade work. Tolerances are agreed on the quotation or approved sample.
Quotations and samples
A quotation is valid for the period stated on it. Samples are made to show construction, colour and finish; bulk production is checked against the sample you approve in writing. Sample charges, if any, are stated on the quotation.
Payment
Payment terms are stated on your proforma invoice. Production begins once the agreed advance, if any, is received and the sample or specification is approved.
Changes and cancellation
Changes to an approved specification may alter the price and lead time. Because each rug is made specifically for you, an order cannot be cancelled once production has started, except as agreed in writing.
Delivery and risk
Shipping terms, delivery estimates and the point at which risk passes to you are stated on the quotation. See Shipping & Returns for how we handle delivery and claims.
Intellectual property
Designs you supply remain yours, and we will use them only to make your order. Designs, photographs and text on this website belong to Handmade Rug and may not be copied without permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction, unless your signed agreement with us says otherwise. Nothing here limits any consumer rights you have by law where you live.
